WWW6: W3C leading the evolution of HTML

the final specifications of the HTML V3.2 recommondation have been release in january 1997.

the release of recommendations for MATH support is expected on 15-may-1997. the suggested implementation for MATH support separates presentation from mathematical content. this allows to import mathematical expressions from HTML documents into mathematical applications, such as Mathematica or Maple. the first implementation will be via embedded elements and will require a plug-in, such as WebEQ, which is a Java applet.

the next version of HTML is currently under developement, its code name is cugar.
